Virginia has not released guidance for day camps. However, some camps elected to run as child care centers in 2020, and operated under the childcare guidance. You can read that guidance here. However, those camps still need financial support from the state.
Virgina has not released guidance for overnight camps, and has indicated that overnight camps will not be allowed to operate in phases 2 or 3 of the forward Viriginia plan. Please help us advocate for Virignia camps!
Help camps by taking action!
Here's what you can do to help Virginia camps:
Sign the Save Next Summer in Virginia petition here.
Find your representatives. You can find your representative by putting your address into the form at this link.
Write your representative a letter or an email. If you aren't sure what to say, we've provided some templates for you to use. Just go to the links and copy the text. Then paste it into a word processor. The parts in red need to be personalized so that you can tell YOUR story. Then print it out and send it (or email it!) using the information in the contact form above.
